A new addition to DeFelsko’s line of measurement and inspection tools is a shore hardness durometer that promises durability and accuracy.

PosiTector SHD measures the indentation hardness of non-metallic materials, according to the manufacturer; durometers like this product can be used to assess the curing of pipeline repair wraps.

Features that DeFelsko touts include PosiTector’s easy-to-read, flashing display and protective rubber holster.

PosiTector SHD models are available to measure hardness on two different ranges, Shore A and Shore D.

The SHD is compatible with other PosiTector products from DeFelsko, so the same PosiTector body can be used with different DeFelsko probes to measure hardness, surface profile, coating thickness and other qualities.

Features that the manufacturer touts include PosiTector’s easy-to-read, flashing display; protective rubber holster; resistance to water, solvents, acid, oil and dust; and two-year warranty.

Using DeFelsko’s PosiSoft software, measurements can be indexed for future use, and transferred to a PC or Mac computer using a USB cable.
